Christmas with Mom
We wouldn't have guessed that this would be our last Christmas with Mom. She had fought a valiant fight with cancer for a year and a half. Even though she had bad days, she didn't give up and she somehow found that contagious smile of hers to share with us and participate in the life that was hers. This was Christmas Eve at her home-we had a really nice time. We shared Christmas Dinner though she could not eat, we played a few games of Sequence, laughed and cried. I had the best Mom! I hope everyone feels that way about their Mom. She said to me that week we had before her passing on January 2nd..."I feel trapped. I can't do anything for anyone." Mom loved life, but was tired of the life that has become hers. I believe she decided it was her time. We miss her so much, but know she is enjoying perfect health now-no worries-and...she is enjoying that everlasting meal that she could no longer enjoy here on earth.

We were lucky to attend the Lanier Annual Christmas Party in our Neighborhood-and Bon Jovi performed! Sweet! It was a blast! Chip, Cade and Chad came down from Richmond to go with us! It was a fun week. More pictures coming!

Thanksgiving
Melanie, Andy, Cale and Leah have been here this week for Thanksgiving. We have had a great time-our house has come alive with constant motion! We visited the Zoo on a gorgeous Houston day and had a chance to go to Santas Wonderland in College Station, where we caught a willing moment to sit with Santa! We've been to the park, swam in the Hot Tub mostly this time, decorated my Christmas tree and enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Mel and I slipped out today to see 'This Is It', came home and grilled chicken and shrimp with some Pineapple Fried Rice-a nice diversion from Turkey!
